We send our thanks to them for participating in and supporting the 15th Budapest Pride with their special photo documentation. Thanks too for helping to increase our international turn-out!
On July 9, Friday 15th Budapest Pride has a special guest. Morris Chapdelaine, the producer of „Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride” has flown to Hungary to meet the Hungarian lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community after the screening.
The 15th Budapest Pride would like to donate money to support our compatriots who are victims of the flooding. As of today our Donation Box will be available at the Művész Cinema. The amount received will be forwarded to the needy by the Hungarian Maltese Charity.
We can help too!
Thank you!
One topic and an hour and half of open discussion with professionals and the audience: we are offering 4 workshops per day to visitors to the Budapest Pride Festival. As we are celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Festival, this year’s discussions are woven around the themes of the past, the situation of and opportunities for the community. I interviewed Adrián Balaci, organiser of the workshops.
On the occasion of the 15h anniversary of the festival, we are selling a limited number of special rainbowheroe T-shirts at the bookstore of Művész cinema.
Price: 1800 HUF/shirt

The 15th Budapest Pride (4-11. July 2010) is expecting you this year too! Without you, volunteers, there is no festival at all! After the opening ceremony held on 4th July, the US movie ‘I Love You, Phillip Morris’ is going to be screened. The film festival takes places from 5-9th and 11th July at the Művész mozi, besides this you can also attend workshops at the Bálint ház (5-7th and 11th July) and at the British Embassy (8-9th July). Moreover, there will be theater plays, dance night, open mic, speed dating and of course parties far into the night.
As Americans, it is our birthright that all people are created equal and deserve the same rights, privileges, and opportunities. Since our earliest days of independence, our Nation has striven to fulfill that promise. An important chapter in our great, unfinished story is the movement for fairness and equality on behalf of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. This month, as we recognize the immeasurable contributions of LGBT Americans, we renew our commitment to the struggle for equal rights for LGBT Americans and to ending prejudice and injustice wherever it exists.
Budapest Pride, Hungary’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Film and Cultural Festival, celebrates its 15th birthday this year. Although we have been working hard and relentlessly for years to make the festival a success, the expectations and the amount of work that needs to be done are growing. It is time for renewal.
